An Irish Adventure

Well it’s definitely safe to say we don’t do things by halves here at Team Woodhead!

We set off for Ballindenisk, Irelance on Tuesday evening, a little earlier than planned due to the Southern ferries not carrying horses and drove through the night only to arrive on Irish soil Wednesday morning (along with most of the British contingent) to news that the event had been cancelled! We only had 20 miles left to drive 😡...

But, a bit of quick thinking, a few phone calls and some extremely lovely people at Riverlodge Equestrian and we had somewhere to stay while we worked through the options. It was great to be able to work all the horses at Riverlodge's amazing base in the Southern Ireland 🇮🇪

Determined to run the horses Parkfield Breedings' Holly Bishop got on the phone and after a couple of leads, soon had all five horses rerouted and entered to compete at Tryella, Northern Ireland 😁 and WOW did it work out well.

1,168 miles, 28 hours driving, a LOT of singing and laughing, but, we got the runs the horses desperately needed after the horrid start to the season in the UK with so many events being abandoned.

All horses did good tests and jumped double clears around what was an amazing event, with the kindest; most helpful people. Thank you to everyone there and to those that have help with all the arrangements.

We came home with plenty of prizes; PARKFIELD QUINTESSENTIAL Won his class; GLOBAL H came 2nd in his section; E WARRANTSON finished 4th in his section, FINDUSS PFB finsihed 5th in his section and MR SNEEZY completed a clean sweep of top ten places claiming 10th in his section.

All in all it was an AMAZING week with two amazing girls, thank you Alex Jackson and Lydia Swan

I've LOVED every minute of our Tour de Ireland and can't wait until the next adventure 😁
