Event Report: Portman and Burnham Market International

Apologies for a lack of posts recently, the last few weeks have been pretty busy but I've managed to find a few minutes to write down how the season is progressing.

After a successful time ate Belton House, we had what felt like a never ending journey travelling to Portman horse trials with the younger horses. This was their first run of the season them and they did not disappoint.

JACK owned by Rebecca Rhodes and BENICIA B owned by Linda Penfold both had educational runs, I was actually very happy with how they went but on paper it doesn’t look quite as good, they were both a little green but have so much talent.

BOLT and QUE SERA owned by Linda Penfold finished 3rd and 4th in their sections.

Star of the day was SCUDERIA 1918 FUTURE owned by Scuderia 1918 who WON his Intermediate Novice section.

Back at the yard, we repacked the lorry and headed to Norfolk for the Burnham Market International with the older horses.

Well the weather certainly changed at Burnham it was freezing, it felt like winter was here again! Thankfully the older horses were on serious form.

E WARRANTSSON owned by Sofia Sjoborg competed in his first Advanced, we didn't have the ideal preparation leading up to this event due to him having a little knock but he showed so much promise for the rest of the season.

SCUDERIA 1918 VIVIAN and SCUDERIA 1918 FUTURE both had solid runs in the Intermediate with Vivian finishing in 2nd place, this mare is just getting better and better.

The gold star was weekend was awarded to CAFRE FIRST MELODY owned by Paul Kullich finished 16th in a hot contested CCI3*S.
